Can I rent studios without using your production services?

Absolutely! Our studio rental is completely independent. You can rent any of our 6 professional studios and bring your own crew, equipment, and creative team. No production services required.

This gives you full creative control and budget flexibility while accessing our state-of-the-art facilities and built-in sets.

How many studios do you have available?

We have 6 professional studios (Studios A through F) in our 46,000 square foot facility. Each studio features different built-in sets and configurations optimized for vertical format filming.

Studios A & B are available April 2026, Studio C opens July 2026, and Studios D, E & F will be available September 2026. Booking opens January 2026 for all studios.

What's included with studio rental?

Each studio rental includes:

Fully built-in sets and environments
Professional lighting fixtures
Climate-controlled environment
Parking and facility access
Basic utilities (power, internet)

You bring your own cameras, crew, and any specialized equipment you need for your production.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance for the best studio availability, especially for multi-day shoots or specific date requirements.

Booking opens January 2026 for all studios, and we expect high demand as San Antonio's first dedicated vertical film production facility.

What are your rental rates?

Studio rental rate: $3,000 per day (12-hour period)

Studios can open as early as 5:00 AM
No hourly rates available - day rates only
Additional fees may apply for usage beyond 12 hours
Discounts available for multiple studio bookings
Rate applies to all studios (A through F)

Do I have to use your production services if I rent a studio?

No, absolutely not! Studio rental and production services are completely separate. You can rent our studios and bring your own crew, or you can add our production services as needed.

Our production services are optional add-ons that include pre-production planning, professional crew, filming, and post-production editing.

What's included in your full production service?

Our complete production service includes:

Pre-production: Concept development, storyboarding, planning
Production: Professional crew, 4K cameras, lighting setup
Post-production: Editing, color correction, audio mixing
Platform optimization: Formatted for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts

You can also choose individual services like just script writing or just casting to complement your studio rental.

Do you specialize in vertical format content?

Yes! VHS Studios is specifically designed for vertical format film production. Our studios, sets, equipment, and expertise are all optimized for creating content for social media platforms.

We understand the unique storytelling requirements of vertical format and create content that performs well on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other vertical platforms.

How long does a typical production take?

Production timeline varies by project scope:

Simple content: 1-2 days filming + 1 week post-production
Standard projects: 3-5 days filming + 2-3 weeks post-production
Complex productions: 1-2 weeks filming + 3-4 weeks post-production

We'll provide a detailed timeline during our initial consultation based on your specific project requirements.

What is CastClub and how does it work?

CastClub is our exclusive talent membership program. Members get professional headshots and guaranteed appearances as extras in our vertical film productions.

We offer two membership options:

Monthly: $50/month - headshots + 2 guaranteed extra appearances
Annual: $500/year - same benefits + priority role selection (save $100!)

What does "guaranteed appearances" mean?

Every CastClub member is guaranteed 2 appearances as extras in our vertical film productions during their membership period (monthly or annual).

This means you'll definitely get cast as background talent or in small featured extra roles - no audition uncertainty. Annual members also get priority in choosing which productions they want to participate in before monthly members.

Do I need acting experience to join CastClub?

No professional experience required! CastClub is designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced actors.

We match roles to your experience level and comfort zone. It's a great way to build your portfolio and gain experience in vertical format acting.

What's included in the professional headshots?

Every CastClub member receives a professional headshot session that includes:

30-45 minute photo session
Multiple outfit changes and looks
Professional lighting and direction
5+ high-resolution edited images
Digital delivery for your portfolio

These headshots are perfect for your acting portfolio, social media, or professional use.

Can I cancel my CastClub membership?

Yes! Monthly memberships can be canceled anytime with 30 days notice. Annual memberships are paid upfront but offer significant savings.

If you cancel, you'll retain access to any completed headshots and can finish any guaranteed extra appearances you haven't used yet.
